In our coverage of Under Armour over the years, we have given the brand solid marks for some measures and not-so-glowing reactions to other steps. Today, positivity holds sway, as the apparel and footwear company is assisting its Baltimore base by planning the manufacturing and distribution of face masks and special fanny packs for health workers combating the coronavirus pandemic.
Under Armour plans to make more than 500,000 masks, assemble and distribute 1,000 face shields and make thousands of hospital gowns in Baltimore. https://t.co/2RmkwBwtd7

The University of Maryland Medical System will prove the direct beneficiary of the gestures, with one-piece masks that do not require sewing as the main component of the life-saving endeavor. Under Armour will endow the system with more than 500,000 such aids, and the fanny packs will number 50,000. Through the decision, 28,000 health care providers and workers will have additional agents at their disposal, with the new products complementing 1,300 face shields that Under Armour has already sent along.
The pandemic’s nasty nature has given the world ample doses of unwanted novelty, and while some businesses are understandably shell-shocked and struggling to know what to do next, it is impressive to observe the actions of those who have the wherewithal to provide assistance.
As we saw with our look at Fanatics and its manufacturing of face masks and gowns, companies are rallying to support our nation’s battle against coronavirus, and it is likely that additional accounts of ingenuity will come our way in the coming days. The pandemic has obviously caused extreme modifications to so many walks of life, so it is comforting to see that although our covered areas are among the affected entities, means to look beyond that and help others are gaining more value than the search for sales.
